… Did watch the 9th season of Grantchester and the new vicar is much better than the previous. It’s apparently been renewed for a 10th season. Now watching the first two seasons of the UK version of Professor T to cruise into the new 3rd. Like it better this time. Ben Miller’s Professor has grown on me.
Meanwhile, I have noticed that on my local PBS stations (in DC we also have a special WETA-UK), one can still watch Midsomer Murders and the excellent Foyles War (which I will review when I return). You may also still watch River via Passport:

and based on your recommendations, I did return to Grantchester, and it is better. The scriptwriters seem to be enjoying a little too much dramatizing personal traumas, however. Hope they don't take over!
Thanks for checking in and keeping us apprised of the need to know on British detective shows! I think Midsomer Murders will be rerun forever. While some of the series you mention aren't shown here on BBC (or at least not as far I know), I have seen Benedict C. as Sherlock. And I would venture to guess that Sir Arthur himself would have quite approved of his performance as befitting the character. He projects the fulness of the Holmes character as written far more than the 'elementary, my dear Watson' drollness that it has often been minimized into. If that makes sense at all...
