A friend recently passed me the first of the Commissario Brunetti books by Donna Leon, Death at La Fenice. They’re set in Venice. They’re so good that 12 days later I’m into the fifth. The sixth is already in my Kindle. (I’m getting these from the Tenleytown Branch of the DC Public Library, in print or ebook versions.) I've also started to make my morning caffè on my Moka, to study Italian on Duolingo and to begin dreaming about a return to Venice (which I have always found to be a floating dream).

Run don’t walk back to Venice. And learning at least some Italian will enhance your time there, even if you end up speaking Portuguese to baffled Venetians...
I’m way behind. I’ll have to catch up bb
